Coming Soon…

Check out the site later today… I will have Episode two of “The Weekly Smorgasbord” ready for your listening pleasure!

This episode will contain a (slightly belated) April Fool’s week in history, a bit about FDR, and the concept of portable nuclear weapons! You won’t want to miss out on this!

P.S. Also If anyone out there could suggest a reliable uploading site… I would love more than anything else to get this podcast available on iTunes, but I can’t find a site that I can directly link to that will show up on my CSS. In other words, I can give the copy-paste link as I did for the first episode, but iTunes can’t see it and therefore I can’t register. Any help would be greatly appreciated, just leave a comment to this post or email me at-

warpedtws@gmail.com

Also if you have any suggestions, comments or questions feel free to email me that stuff too!

Until then,

This is it, folks! The inaugural episode of “The Weekly Smorgasbord!”

Episode 1 covers This Week in History, the great inventor Nikola Tesla, and the “Ferret Finder” in an enlightening combination of information genetically engineered for your listening pleasure. Our beloved Announcer (who goes by the name “Hank”) opens up a monumental rant as a segue from reality into the land of all things trivia.

I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed making this! Here’s a link:

Hello there, world.

This is Gazebob, your benevolent online source for “The Weekly Smorgasbord,” a podcast focusing on bringing you information about people and events you’ve heard of- but enlightening you with something you didn’t know about them.

The show will have several consistent segments each week:

This Week in History

The Person of the Week

The Innovator’s Ire

This Week in History will cover a number of significant events that occured at around the time of the podcast in some year of recent history.  For example, if the podcast is for the week of Wednesday, April 2nd, then the segment might go over an event that happened within a few days of the 2nd in some year- whether that means the week of April 2nd, 2008 or that very same week in the early 1900’s changes from week to week.

The Person of the Week takes a prolific or otherwise well-known figure from history (current or otherwise) and, after giving a quick summary of that person’s accomplishments- which is not meant to be exhaustive, of course- I rattle off a few points of trivia regarding that individual which I’d be willing to bet you didn’t know about them.

The Innovator’s Ire will be my way to enlighten you with info about some failed invention or concept from sometime in the last century.  Ever wonder what happened to the Jetpack?  This is the kind of material that will be covered in each week’s Innovator’s Ire.

If all goes well, each new episode should be posted and ready to listen to by Wednesday afternoons.  The first two episodes are nearing completion and will probably be uploaded simultaneously.

Also, when time permits, I will attempt to bring you video clips, pictures, and other zany info expanding on subjects covered in that week’s show in case you crave even more information.

Until then,

-Gazebob
